Wednesday Gaming – Sumo Digital Lay-Offs, Madden 25, Arcane and MORE!

Catch up on the latest news, rumours and announcements from the world of video games, tech and entertainment:

– Sumo Digital, the British developers behind titles such as “LittleBigPlanet 3”, “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre”, and the upcoming arcade racer “DeathSprint 66”, is laying off 15% of its workforce, most of whom are located in Canada, the United Kingdom, Poland, Czech Republic and India.

– Per a statement from Sumo Digital regarding the reason for the lay-offs: “Whilst Sumo has been able to manage through many of the recent difficulties the games industry has faced, we have not been immune, and reshaping operations across the business to better navigate the upcoming challenges expected in the coming months is a path we must now take to ensure the security of the business going forward.”

– Speaking of “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre”, new DLC has been added to the survival horror game. It includes two new characters – Maria Flores, a Victim, and Hands, a Family Member – as well as Leland Outfit Pack II and reworks of the game’s Skill Tree.

– San Francisco 49ers running back, Christian McCaffrey, has been unveiled as the cover star for the upcoming American football game, “Madden 25”, which is scheduled for release on 16 August.

– A new teaser trailer promoting the second (and final) season of “Arcane” has dropped, and it will see Piltover waging war against Zaun following the events of last season. The new season is slated for a November release on Netflix.
